Insurance and financial services keep Botswana's families, businesses and economy protected. Entering and progressing in that profession takes recognised, practical knowledge, and a route to it that working people can actually take.
That is why the Insurance Academy of Botswana exists. Since 2016 we have delivered accredited, industry-focused programmes for working professionals and aspiring practitioners, grounded in local legislation, the regulatory environment and real workplaces.

That progression is the whole idea: study a recognised programme, learn what the profession actually requires, and earn the standing to advance in it.

Every iAB programme runs the same shape, whichever subject you take and whichever way you study.

Pick the specialism and the way you want to study.
Four specialist programmes, each run over 12 weeks, available by distance or in class. The choice is the subject and the mode; the standard is the same either way.
Study
Twelve weeks built around a working week.
Material is set in Botswana's regulatory environment and workplace practice, so it is written for people who are already working, or preparing to.
Be assessed
Assessed and moderated under the accreditation.
Programmes are designed, delivered, assessed and moderated under iAB's accreditation as an education and training provider, not marked to an internal standard of our own.
Qualify
A certificate issued by the academy.
Certificates are issued by Insurance Academy of Botswana, and employers who need to confirm one is genuine can ask us to verify it directly.
